Байкальский лед 2010. Слюдянка – Бугульдейка. 342 км

Идея пересечь озеро Байкал с юга на север не нова. Пешеходы, велосипедисты, лыжники и прочие ненормальные это делают каждый год. И на машинах народ несколько раз ездил. Однако во всех известных общественности случаях они сопровождались ледовыми капитанами — лоцманами, знающими байкальский лед столь досконально, как не каждый знает свою квартиру. Таких вокруг Байкала живет всего шесть. Нашим проводником стал их предводитель — Александр Бурмейстер, личность, не побоюсь этого слова, легендарная.

У меня поначалу был огромный скепсис в необходимости такого человека — ведь, как известно, Байкал замерзает полностью, толщина льда в марте колеблется от 90 до 120 см, а 20 см льда выдерживают грузовик... И даже в первую пару дней нашего путешествия по льду меня все время терзали сомнения — а не набивает ли этот человек себе цену, а не сгущает ли тучи, не преувеличивает ли опасность? Ответов на эти вопросы в полной мере я так и не получил, но то, что Байкал — это не шутки, я понял точно. И не факт, что после всего увиденного я бы рискнул сунуться на лед озера без Александра или его коллег. А потому прошу воспринимать последующий рассказ весьма серьезно. Даже местные по Байкалу если и ездят, то только близ родного дома, где наперед известна каждая трещинка. Любой риск оправдан, если ты его понимаешь и контролируешь. Иначе это уже "русская рулетка".

Ловушка в том, что байкальский лед — не монолит. Это система льдин, разорванных трещинами, подточенных солнцем, расшатанных ветрами, истонченных теплыми ключами, пробуравленных дышащими водорослями, распотрошенных сейсмической активностью и заселенных глазастыми нерпами. Из машины увидеть опасность почти невозможно: на первый взгляд, лед везде одинаково треснутый, и предположить, какой участок будет держать машину, а какой сдастся — та еще наука. А тонуть — что на 100-метровую глубину, что на 1,5 километра — одинаково неприятно и долго, особенно учитывая крайнюю ненаселенность береговой линии и тотальное отсутствие связи и какого-либо трафика. Если что-то случится, ты останешься один на один со стихией — и тут победа чаще всего не за человеком. И случаи такие не единичны; машины каждый год тонут если не сотнями, то многими десятками, достаточно набрать соответствующий запрос в любом поисковике и насладиться сводками. Каждый съезд на лед — риск, и кто-то молит Бога о благополучном возвращении...

...а кто-то следует основанным на шаманизме бурятским традициям и задабривает местных духов водочкой, "бурханит". Местные обычаи нужно соблюдать не зависимо от того, к чему привык в тех местах, где вырос, ведь мир гораздо сложнее и многраннее, чем удобно об этом думать.

На участке до Листвянки, самом плотно населенном и популярном, встречается множество туристов разного формата, чаще всего — иностранцы. Здесь и машины на льду — не редкость; ощущения приключения еще нет, по льду не бродит лишь ленивый. Стоило ли для того, чтобы быть как все, пилить неделю на машине по не самой лучше магистрали, жить в убогих гостиницах, рисковать желудком в страшненьких придорожных закусочных?

Зима есть зима, и бороться приходится не только со льдом, но и со снежными переметами. Как только колеса прокапывают снежную толщу и касаются льда — сцепление становится нулевым, без малого трехтонный автомобиль "вростает", как памятник. Издревле на Руси было принято тянуть железнодорожные ветки по берегам красивейших водоемов, раз и навсегда ставя крест на рекреационной составляющей местности: достаточно вспомнить Черноморское побережье. Участок Кругобайкальской железной дороги, который протянулся по берегу от Слюдянки до Листвянки (станция Байкал) на сегодняшний день является памятником инженерного искусства, но, тем не менее, берег не украшает.

Строилась дорога в основном руками каторжников с 1902 по 1905 годы. Технические условия при устройстве разъездов определяли пропускную способность дороги в 14 пар поездов в сутки. По причине отсутствия прибрежной террасы доставка всех материалов к месту строительства (за исключением камня, добываемого на месте) осуществлялась по воде (летом — на баржах, зимой — на гужевом ходу по льду). Сложный рельеф берега, сложенного практически везде скальными породами, вынудил строителей подавляющую часть маршрута дороги прокладывать в тоннелях либо на искусственных полках, вырубленных в скале; откосы дороги приходилось укреплять подпорными стенками.
На каждый километр дороги было истрачено в среднем около вагона взрывчатых веществ и несчетное количество исключительно ручного труда. (использованы данные wikipedia)

Дальнейшая история, опять же традиционно для нашей страны, печальна. Выяснилось, что дорога проложена не самым оптимальным образом, полотно страдает от оползней, селей и камнепадов, и в 1940 году были начаты изыскательские работы по укреплению железнодорожного полотна и обеспечению безопасности движения на Кругобайкальской железной дороге. К 1947 году пришли к неожиданному выводу: в связи с огромной стоимостью было предложено не проводить никаких работ на дороге вдоль Байкала. Взамен предлагалось достраиваемую к тому моменту однопутную дорогу от Иркутска до Слюдянки через горы превратить в двухпутную электрифицированную магистраль.

Таким образом, в 1947–1949 годах была построена электрифицированная перевальная дорога Иркутск — Большой Луг — Слюдянка, заметно сократившая путь по сравнению с Кругобайкальской веткой. Основной ход Транссибирской магистрали был переведен на новый участок. Но и это был еще не конец.
В 1950 году началось строительство Иркутской ГЭС. В связи с этим часть Кругобайкальской дороги от Иркутска до поселка Байкал, проходившая вдоль Ангары, была разобрана в 1956 году и в этом же году затоплена при наполнении Иркутского водохранилища. В итоге сформировался современный, «тупиковый» маршрут Кругобайкалки (Слюдянка-2 — Култук — Маритуй — Байкал). Магистраль потеряла стратегическое значение.
В настоящее время на КБЖД используется 38 тоннелей общей длиной 9063 м (самый длинный из них — тоннель через мыс Половинный длиной 777,5 м), 15 каменных галерей общей длиной 295 м и 3 железобетонных галереи с отверстиями, 248 мостов и виадуков, 268 подпорных стенок. По насыщенности инженерными сооружениями КБЖД не имеет равных в России и занимает одно из первых мест в мире.
На сегодняшний день по дороге регулярно курсирует лишь один поезд в день (тепловоз и два вагона). Время в пути от Слюдянки до станции Байкал — 4 часа 40 минут. Этот поезд именуется жителями придорожных селений словом «передача», отражающим значение этого транспорта для обеспечения их предметами первой необходимости (хлеб, соль, спички, водка и табак). Еще одно название поезда — «мотаня» (мотается между станциями). Также периодически ходят туристические поезда, в том числе с паровозной тягой. (использованы данные wikipedia)

Первая трещина на нашем пути, по словам Александра, "учебная". Прелесть в том, что реальная ширина трещины гораздо шире, чем кажется на первый взгляд. Обычно на метр-другой влево-вправо лед очень тонкий, и если машина идет медленно, проломить корку и уйти на дно — проще простого. Прилегающая к трещине льдина может быть как громадной по площади, так и локальной, готовой перевернуться даже под весом легкового автомобиля.

Поэтому даже ледовые капитаны с ходу трещины обычно не штурмуют, а сперва их подробно обследуют на предмет "ловушек", анализируют все видимые вокруг трещинки, структуру снега и переметов, читают следы ранее прошедших автомобилей...

Исследовав трещину, Александр уверенно сказал, что преодолевать ее нужно по касательной, по диагонали, на скорости 70 км/ч. Проходит одна машина, затем обследуются разрушения, ведь колеса очень сильно разбивают лед. Следующая машина идет уже со смещением, нарезая свой след.

По наблюдениям людей, всю жизнь ездивших по льду Байкала, разорванные трещинами льдины никогда не находятся на одном уровне, а представляют собой ступеньки. При движении с юга на север ты поднимаешься по ступенькам вверх, а при движении на юг — спускаешься вниз. Проще говоря, с юга на север нужно искать какие-то трамплины для перепрыгивания через трещину, чтобы не губить подвеску, а вот когда идешь с севера на юг — просто спрыгиваешь с более высокой льдины на низкую.

Ну что, по-прежнему считаете, что риски провалиться под лед преувеличены? У нас и нашего проводника паранойя? Смотрите на фото ниже. В этой проруби часом раньше "купался" КАМАЗ; его обледеневший силуэт провез на буксире собрат по конвейеру. Еще повезло, что чугунина на колесах не пошла ко дну, до него здесь всего пара сотен метров.

Кстати, у местных жителей, ввиду отсутствия регулярной работы, есть тариф за подъем машины из пучины, если та затонула неглубоко: 30% рыночной стоимости спасаемого автомобиля. А чтобы обеспечить себе устойчивый приток клиентов, они накатывают легкой техникой дороги через потенциально опасные места с небольшой глубиной — и ждут "добычу". Так что, если перед вами стелется накатанная дорога, не факт, что это не путь в ловушку.

Тем не менее, путешествие по льду Байкала буквально завораживает. Природа сурова, но очень многообразна во всех своих проявлениях, и чем дальше на север, тем красивее, красивее, красивее... Понится, первое знакомство с Байкалом у меня состоялось в Култуке, а затем в тот же день в Байкальске, года три назад. Тогда Байкал меня откровенно разочаровал. Но сейчас... Уже в кромешной темноте, что очень неправильно с точки зрения ледовой безопасности, мы выбрались на берег в поселке Бугульдейка и остановились на постой в имении "Заречное" у гостеприимных хозяев. Условия весьма спартанские, но много ли нам надо: тепло, кров, ужин и койка.
